Abstract: 

In this paper, a novel risk-based, two-objective (technical and economical) optimal reactive POWER dispatch method in a wind-integrated POWER system is proposed which is more consistent with operational criteria.  The technical objective includes the minimization of the new voltage instability risk index. The economical objective includes cost minimization of reactive POWER generation and active POWER loss. The proposed voltage instability risk employs a hybrid possibilistic (Delphi-Fuzzy)-probabilistic approach that takes into consideration the operator’s experience, the wind speed and demand forecast uncertainties when quantifying the risk index. The decision variables are the reactive POWER resources of the system. To solve the problem, the modified multi-objective particle swarm optimization algorithm with sine and cosine acceleration coefficients is utilized. The method is implemented on the modified IEEE 30-bus system. The proposed method is compared with those in the previously published literature, and the results confirm that the proposed risk index is better at estimating the voltage instability risk of the system, especially in cases with severe impact and low probability. In addition, according to the simulation results compared to typical security-based planning, the proposed risk-based planning may increase the security and economy of the system due to better utilization of system resources.

Abstract: 

A smart grid is the modern POWER grid to resolve many issues of current POWER grid systems with higher reliability, self-healing, ability to support renewable energy sources and reduction of environmental impacts. Novelty and necessity of POWER smart grid knowledge has led to feel technologies assessment is needed for development and determination the attractiveness of product and process technologies in this industry. DISTRIBUTION network is an important part of a POWER system and nearest part to the consumers that should pay special attention to it. The aim of this study was to prioritize POWER smart grid technology with respect to the attractiveness criteria in Mazandaran POWER distributed company. So, the list of key technologies related to POWER smart grid was prepared. Then 9 criteria were identified. Questionnaire was designed to obtain the experts’ point about the status of each technology in every criteria. Saw is Multiple Attribute Decision Making model for weighing the criteria, determining the relative status of each technology, group decision-making and technology assessment. The results show that moment billing, wireless, load forecasting, energy costs calculating and software are the most important technologies based on attractiveness in the Mazandaran POWER DISTRIBUTION company. Also is the basic step for planning, strategy of technologies and time management.

Abstract: 

In this paper, we propose a new parametric DISTRIBUTION which called as the Beta Modified Weibull POWER Series (BMWPS) DISTRIBUTION. This DISTRIBUTION is obtained by compounding Beta Modified Weibull (BMW) and POWER series DISTRIBUTIONs. BMWPS DISTRIBUTION contains, as special sub-models, such as Beta Modified Weibull Poisson (BMWP) DISTRIBUTION, Beta Modified Weibull Geometric (BMWG) DISTRIBUTION, Beta Modified Weibull Logarithmic (BMWL) DISTRIBUTION, among others. We obtain closed-form expressions for the cumulative DISTRIBUTION, density, survival function, failure rate function, the r-th raw moment and the moments of order statistics. A full likelihood-based approach that allows yielding maximum likelihood estimates of the BMWPS arameters is used. Finally, application to the Aarset data are given.

Abstract: 

In this paper is investigated a voltage source converter fed with battery system, boost converter, solar cell and a star triangle connection transformer for POWER quality improvement. Three-phase reference frame theory is proposed to control the four-wire distributed Static Synchronous Compensator (STATCOM) that is consists of a voltage source converter with a dc link capacitor. The proposed DSTATCOM is provided the reactive compensation, source harmonic reduction and compensation of neutral point current in common coupling PCC. Photovoltaic cell with battery and boost converter is used to supply the DC link of VSC voltage source. The main advantage of this method is compensation continuously throughout the day. Also the star triangle transformer is supplied for zero current and neutral current harmonic. To determine the reference current to generate the VSC fire angles, the overall system is designed and is validated in MATLAB environment.

Abstract: 

The recent development in renewable energy systems and the high demand for having clean and low cost energy sources encourage people to use distributed generator (DG) systems. Proper addition and placement of DG units can increase reliability and reduce the loss and production cost. In this paper using Ant Colony method, we developed an optimum placing scheme for DGs. The proposed method is tested on an IEEE 34-shinhe system. Results show that if DGs are able to generate active POWER, their effectiveness will increase.

DISTRIBUTION NETWORK RECONFIGURATION MAY BE UTILIZED FOR MULTIPLE OBJECTIVES SUCH AS POWER LOSS MINIMIZATION, CUSTOMER SERVICE RESTORATION, LOAD BALANCING, VOLTAGE PROFILE IMPROVEMENT, MINIMIZATION OF SERVICE INTERRUPTION FREQUENCY AND SERVICE RELIABILITY ENHANCEMENT. DISTRIBUTION NETWORK RECONFIGURATION IS FORMULATED AS A CONSTRAINED MULTI OBJECTIVE PROBLEM. THERE ARE MULTIPLE OBJECTIVES AND SEVERAL OPERATIONAL AND NETWORK CONSTRAINTS IN THE PROBLEM. SO ACHIEVING A GLOBAL OPTIMUM SOLUTION FOR THE PROBLEM IS VERY HARD. HERETOFORE SEVERAL METHODS ARE DEVELOPED TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM BUT ALL OF THESE METHODS DON’T SEARCH ALL OF CONFIGURES BECAUSE OF THE NUMBER OF THE CONFIGURATIONS ARE EXTREME.IN SPIT OF EXTENT NUMBERS OF THE CONFIGURATIONS FOR A DISTRIBUTION NETWORK AND SINCE DISTRIBUTION NETWORK STRUCTURES ARE PLANNED WITH LOW LOOPS AND MORE OF ITS LINES ARE SERIES CONNECTION, A FEW OF THEM ARE FEASIBLE. ALSO WE PROPOSE A METHOD TO DIRECTLY DETERMINE ALL FEASIBLE CONFIGURATIONS. THEN WE STUDY EACH OF THE FEASIBLE CONFIGURATIONS AND PERFORM SUITABLE QUICK LOAD FLOW FOR EACH OF THEM, AND THEN WE DETERMINE THE OPTIMUM CONFIGURE. THE PROPOSED METHOD HAS SOME ADVANTAGES. IN THIS METHOD WE CAN CONSIDER ALL OBJECTIVES AND CONSTRAINTS AND WE ACHIEVE GLOBAL OPTIMUM. THIS METHOD NEEDS ACCEPTABLE COMPUTATION TIME. THE PROPOSED METHOD HAS DONE ON A TYPICAL DISTRIBUTION NETWORK.
